Since 2000 the International Indian Film Awards have countries ranging from London during their inaugural year to Macau in 2013. For its 15th anniversary this year the show – known as Bollywood’s Oscars – were held in Tampa, Florida, the first time a US city has been chosen. Fittingly the festivities included a pair of Hollywood A-listers, Kevin Spacey and John Travolta, who both treated the audience to some dance moves.
Spacey donned a lungi alongside Indian actors Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ritesh Deshmuk and attempted to follow their lead and break out some moves to the wildly popular “Lungi Dance,” a song featured in the massively successful Bollywood film Chennai Express. Watch below and try not to cringe as Spacey struggles to keep up.
Travolta showed up accept his honorary award for Outstanding Achievement in International Cinema, and fared better in the dance department when being prompted to do some of his iconic moves from Pulp Fiction. At least Spacey was in a lighter mood then when on the pre-show red carpet. After acknowledging to reporters that his Netflix-distributed show House of Cards is a big hit in India, the actor was quick to point out “…Except isn’t it funny that Netflix doesn’t exist there yet. Which means you’re stealing it.”
